funkymogwai Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 I have a client who has supplied their font for the variable portion of their order. I have been able to load the font in Windows, but it does not load in Fusion Pro. I've tried both Load New and Load All from the Fusion Pro menu in Acrobat, restarted Acrobat, and rebooted, but the font still does not show up in my list of fonts in the Variable Text Editor. The only thing I can see different between this font and the others is that it's a True Type Collection font. I've not had any experience with these, but I can't find any documentation saying that it either is or isn't supported. I'd rather not go back to our customer and tell them to pick a different font, as they've pretty much set most of their branding in this font. Any ideas?
Alex Marshall Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 What version of Windows are you using with FusionPro?
funkymogwai Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Hi Alex, I'm using Windows XP, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, and Fusion Pro Desktop 6.0P1f
Alex Marshall Posted December 16, 2010 Posted December 16, 2010 Navigate the hard drive to : C:\Program Files\Printable\FusionPro Open the file "Fonts.err" with Notepad. Is there any information pertaining to the font(s) in this report?
funkymogwai Posted December 16, 2010 Author Posted December 16, 2010 Nothing for the font in question in that file. I have error messages for some other fonts in there, the most common being that it is using default encoding names for the fonts.
rpaterick Posted December 17, 2010 Posted December 17, 2010 I've ran into this problem, especially when we get in a MAC job that has to be then converted to my PC. http://www.fontlab.com/font-converter/transtype/ This will convert your .ttf font to a .ps font that should load. For some reason .ttf doesn't show up SOMETIMES into either system fonts or suitcase.
