Mike Johnson Posted January 3, 2011 Share Posted January 3, 2011 I have been using fusion pro for a while now for basic VDP needs, How ever we were going to do some season tickets and this is the file i got, Does any one know how to use a file like this? I know that the ~ must be the separator but it just seems so scrambled see sample below? Is there a paticular format that this is or called? LesSjo Posted January 4, 2011 Share Posted January 4, 2011 Mike, You are probably right in that the ~ should be a separator. Try bringing your file into excel and do a find and replace ("~" for ",") and save it as a csv file. Then bring the new file into FusionPro. Hope this helps. In the Data Source Wizard, in the "Data Fields" step, in the "Field Delimiter" drop-down, select "other" and type a tilde character. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Mike D Posted January 5, 2011 Share Posted January 5, 2011 So cool thanks for the quick help. Now relating to this file, I delimited it as said above to get it in columns instead of ~ separator. But Generally when i get Data files from clients the first row is the Column place holder in this case SL1 is its column SL2 is its own etc..... But there is data in those columns that i dont want mapped in when being merged. Im used to the files being SL1 is all the seat #s then SL2 all the Row # and SL3 being game Date and so forth. Then i can map them were ever i want in my layout and move them around in my design. But when there setup like this in that format how the heck can i move my SL1 data source that has all of that merged in to one column and move to different places in my design.
