  1. I just discovered that the file was in the Library - not under Applications (as the rules documentation states). Everything is good again.
  2. Just prior to updating our FusionPro Desktop, we had all of our custom rules in a file called rulestemplate.english.js. I went to replace the file and it is not to be found. Any ideas? Has this js file been deprecated?
  3. I have a business card template setup that has a solid 6 pt solid line running horizontally across the business card. My customer wants to have a white fill behind the name that covers this line so that the text box has a 3 pt bleed to the left and right of the name, which is horizontally centered on the line. Because most names are variable in length, is there a method of controlling the length of the text box so that it will contract/expand to produce the desired effect I am after? A picture says a thousand words, so I have attached an image of what I am after. Thanks is advance. sample.pdf
  4. I have been working with the font supplied by the RIBBS site for over a year. I had issues with the USPSIMBCompact font right away. In certain cases the barcode would go "missing" at random on a number of printed pieces. (still no clue as to why...), but to fix the issue, I began using the USPSIMBStandard font and have not had any issues with this font. I am attaching images that show how I set up my rule. This may be of help to some of the newer users. The first image shows the field in the csv file, "FATD" format. The second image shows the rule I created to use the data field, format the text, and apply an automatic amount of leading to the barcode line. The third image shows the usage of the barcode rule in the text editor. I format the endorsement rule the same way, including the font and leading into the rule. That way I don't have to change any fonts in the text editor during layout of the mail piece. This saves me a lot of time in the creation of each mail piece. Hopes this helps.
  5. Are you trying to remove the crops in Acrobat or the native program?

    FP Imposer

Is there a possibility that you could include the attached file? It may be easier to see.

    FP Imposer

With the current FP Imposer, can't you rotate you stock 180 degrees and then in turn rotate your signature 180 degrees to accomplish this? I am attaching images of the final output from FP Imposer with the original and new settings invoked. I believe this shows what you want.
  8. An external file may be a great solution, but if the date doesn't change from record to record, but may be placed in a number of locations, why not just create a rule that returns a specific date and use the rule in the areas where you need the date returned? return "January 17, 2010";I may be missing something here, but why make things difficult on a simple job?
  9. I agree with Dan. Doug's solution is a very good one, which I will probably incorporate in some of my work soon. (Thanks Doug!) However, there is something that everyone may be missing that looks to me to be a very simple fix. To me this implies that there will be one date for the entire job, and just hard-coding the date in the text editor would probably be the easiest solution. http://forums.printable.com/images/icons/icon5.gif Just my $0.02.
  10. I was able to create a faux glow on one project I worked on, but the processing time was horrendous.
  11. In theory, that would work if FP had the capability of using a "color" for the shadow. Presently, you can only use black or an opacity of black. I had thought to use it as a glow, but FP had other ideas...
  12. YES! Thank you! This is finally working.
  13. If you could supply me with the string for this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks,
  14. That looks like what I need. If you could at least let me know where to find the "globals" I could probably do it myself, but it would be nice to have you provide the path.
  15. I am attempting to use an image drop-down menu. I have used them in numerous other templates, but in this case I am not able to get the image to show in the online proof. What gets me is that I can compose the proof at my desktop just fine. Here is the rule I am using for the logo. It just a basic graphic switch rule. switch (Field("Logo")) { case "AppraisalEnv": return Resource("AppraisalEnv"); case "BankAndTrustEnv": return Resource("BankAndTrustEnv"); case "FinancialFDICEnv": return Resource("FinancialFDICEnv"); case "RetirementEnv": return Resource("RetirementEnv"); case "InsuranceEnv": return Resource("InsuranceEnv"); case "FinancialNoFDICEnv": return Resource("FinancialNoFDICEnv"); case "InvestmentEnv": return Resource("InvestmentEnv"); case "PropertyEnv": return Resource("PropertyEnv"); case "SecuritiesEnv": return Resource("SecuritiesEnv"); case "MortgageEnv": return Resource("MortgageEnv"); default: return NullResource(); }The resources are named as in the rule, and I have uploaded the images in the online library and linked them to the drop-down menu. A preview shows no images. Anybody?
  16. Jeff, I just finished a job using courier new and saw the same issues. I resolved it by going into the global settings in the text box under paragraph formatting and changing the optimal word spacing to 250%. That set up my variable font to read almost exactly like the static font on the job I was working on. Not sure if this will work for you or not.
