Fotorecord
New user trying to print 4 x 5 postcards 8-up on 12 x 18 sheet with variable data on both sides. Using mac for file set-up / FP Transfer to Command workstation EFI Fiery for output on Xerox 700. Daily volume: 2000 - 5000 cards What is the fastest way to rip these through the Fiery? We are not having any luck here with spooling/output speed to 700.

rpaterick
What is your output file? .ps, .pdf, etc... How big are your output files in term of MB?
Lauren
We recommend that for the Fiery that you compose to PPML. This will give you the best results.
aaronsupremeworks.com
Depending on what your Fiery accepts.. I use VPS, rips fast.
mhilger
Hello, Do you have a free-standing Fiery controller sitting next to your Xerox 700 or is the Fiery controller embedded in the press? If you have a free-standing Fiery, try outputting PPML from FusionPro and then loading the resulting .ZIP file that is generated into the CWS just like any other job (using manual job import or using the Fiery Hot Folders solution). If you have an embedded controller in the press, you likely can only support PostScript or PDF - neither of which will RIP very fast. hth
Fotorecord
Thanks for the update - it is an embedded rip. We will be upgrading to separate rip soon.
Fotorecord
Actually we are running a EFI Fiery E10-02. It is attached to the 700 in the back.
mhilger
I'm not familiar with the E10-02. I would suggest contacting the folks that support your hardware and asking what print file formats are supported on your particular Fiery. I would specifically ask if your Fiery supports PPML. PaulIn2digital
Ok guys, will PPML work for a Xerox Nuvera running embedded FreeFlow Server version 7? I am going to try PPML on our Xerox 5000 with Fiery XP5000 stand alone rip running CWS 4.5.1.9 We are having increasing problems ripping large files to either machine.
