cecprepress
Is there an output that will allow transparency? PDF/VT works, but the files process very slowly on our RIP (Creo, on KM C8000s). Using VPS drops quality if there's transparency present. Flattening the PDF in Acrobat is also dropping quality in a similar fashion. Is there a recommended method for processing these types of files?
Dan Korn
PDF output supports transparency, as do most of the PDF-based formats, such as VDX. But there are a lot of variables, including the types of graphics used, other output options, and settings on the RIP. It's hard to answer your question more definitively without more information. A sample output file and a clear description of the actual vs. expected results of processing it on the RIP would be helpful.
