draco66
I have a customer that supplied a sample bar code they want on some cards. It is a code 128 but their code looks a lot larger with more bars than what I am getting with the code 128 wizard in Fusion Pro 9.03. The one on top of the image is the one they provided and the one on the bottom is the one being created by Fusion Pro. Any ideas on this?? Thank you. http://www.tylermcguire.com/images/9821275006100628X.jpg
esmith
Using this site as a reference, it looks as though the 128 bar you are creating uses the "Auto" character set while your client's barcode uses "Character Set B". It also appears that their code is not the same as the digits displayed, but I don't have a scanner handy to test that opinion. Alex Marshall
When you create the Rule, use the "128 B Barcode Rule" xml template. Be sure to insert the Rule from the "variable" drop box in the Variable Text Editor. No need to apply a font. You can select the size needed in this dialog, S, M, L.. Dan Korn
Eric is correct. There are multiple "flavors" of the 128 barcode: http://www.idautomation.com/barcode-faq/code-128/#Specifications And there are multiple "subtypes," or "character sets": http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Code_128#Subtypes Try the "128 B Barcode Rule" instead. draco66
Thank you all for your input. I made some samples with the 128B selection and it looks a bit different than their sample but they tested it on their scanners and it worked so they are going to be OK with it.
