Make128BBarcode problems in 8.0.13 Mac

Recommended Posts

We just recently upgraded to VDP Creator v8.0.13 Mac and installed on a new Mac with OSX 10.6.8. Now the Make123BBarcode is generating stop/start characters that are outside the character set for the IDAutomation128L font. I have been able to work around this while tech support is coming up with a solution by replacing the stop and start characters in my rule.

I just now discovered, however, that the Make128BBarcode command is also generating check digit characters which are outside the IDAutomation128L character set. It just generated an Æ (AE ligature) check digit for one of my strings.

Has anyone else run into any problems with the Make128BBarcode command in 8.0.13 Mac and do you have a work around for it?

Thanks for sending your files to Support. We have confirmed that this is an issue in FusionPro 8.0 on Mac, and we will be releasing a patch soon which fixes the problem. In the meantime, you can work around the issue in your rule like so:

var barcode_data = NormalizeEntities(Make128BBarcode(Field("SERIAL")));
barcode_data = barcode_data.replace(Chr(204), "Ì");
barcode_data = barcode_data.replace(Chr(206), "Î");
return "<z newsize=12><setwidth newsize=16><f name=\"IDAutomationC128L\">" + barcode_data;

The workaround supplied does not work for all barcode numbers, hoping you could check it out and let me know if you get the same result

Basically the majority work but not all????

Please try these numbers using the code supplied

501001008553429 - Does not work "Box appears in the barcode"

501002008652368 - works
