I'm new, so I;m probably mising something simple, but I have selected the variable frame, create a new rule, selected format phone number, chose the "Cell" field from the drop-down, and picked the format I wanted. Wasn't even wanting to get fancy. I saved and previewed and I set up my data file to have several records with different ways people might type in their phone number so as to be sure it would re-format to the appropriate format from what ever they input. Nope. Preview shows the phone numbers as they were typed in, not as the re-format should have changed them to. I've been through the process several times and no luck. Help?? Thanks! You need to insert the variable with the name of the rule ("Change phone format Rule"), not the variable with the name of the data field ("Cell").
