arwolfe
Is there command line support for FusionPro Direct? We have been trying to use the examples in the Server Manual without success. I would like to verify that command line control is actually available for this product. Thanks, Tony
Dan Korn
You need a FusionPro Server license in order to be able to use the command-line interface to FusionPro.exe, or the Web Service API.
arwolfe
Is there an upgrade path to the "full-blown" server and if so, what would be the impact to our current workflow in regards to the Direct functionality?
Dan Korn
Is there an upgrade path to the "full-blown" server and if so, what would be the impact to our current workflow in regards to the Direct functionality? All you need is to purchase an FP Server license (a serial number starting with FS70 or FS80), and then you can run the ProdActivate program on the FP Direct machine with the new serial number. This will unlock the command-line capabilities of FusionPro.exe. FP Direct will still continue to function. However, you are still limited to a particular number of concurrent compositions on the machine, whether via FP Direct or via the FP Server command-line (or other APIs using FP Server). That said, many FP Server (and FP Direct) customers use multiple machines for composition; this allows for load-balancing and scalability. Please contact Sales for more information.
