DataMatrix Barcode

I am using the following code:

return MakeDataMatrixBarcode(("FA"));

 

It is return a small bar and what looks like a backwarf "F". That's it. It is not square. It does not even look like a DataMatrix barcode.

 

What am I doing wrong?

You probably don't have the IDAutomationDMatrix font installed. I'll bet there's a message saying as much in the composition log (.msg) file.

 

If you're running Windows Vista or Windows 7, you'll need to disable UAC and re-install FusionPro to get this font installed.

I do not get a message about the font not being installed.

 

I am not running Vista or 7, I am running XP. Does that make a difference?

 

The end result I am looking for is to put FA in a Datamatrix code for a folding machine to read so that it will know how many sheets to fold as part of one set.

If I use your rule in a sample job, it works fine. Here's a clip from the output:

So maybe try your rule in one of the installed tutorial jobs. Let me know if that works.
