106K. It says the server connection resets every time I press Upload.

File uploader doesn't work. Tried on 3 browsers and 2 different computers.

I'm not sure you understand where I'm having the problem. The ® is not in the data file. It is in a Plain Text file (.txt) that gets called into the template from the server. The letter previews correctly in the template, but will not compose in Producer on the server.

The data is Unicode-16. The letter file is a Plain Text file. What is a better way to save the text file?

In our layouts, we call in a .txt file for customer letters. If a letter contains a registered trademark, Producer puts two umlauts in place of the ®. This only happens on Producer. If I compose locally, it appears fine. Any hints?

I mean the file is not on the folder on the server that contains all the text files. The file is listed in the data but the actual .txt file can't be found where the file path is pointing. We have over 234 possible data fields and we need to know if something is missing in our test data prints before we run all 80,000 records. A rule would need to pull the "error" resource I would create if the file is missing, rather than the field being empty in the data.

I am trying to create some type of warning that will search the folder that contains all of our images and text for a job and will put a red box for a missing image or red type for missing text. I know I could convert every rule to Javascript and then add the image or text error resource I create in each rule individually. I guess I'm trying to see if there is a way that you could write a rule in OnRecordStart to cover every field and rule if the resource is missing from a particular folder?

Checked font usage and they definitely aren't in the layouts. The files wouldn't process on a Creo RIP attached to an iGen 4. It shows that the fonts are in two logos which are outlined EPS files.

The past few jobs I have composed on Producer are embedding fonts that are not used in the layout of my PDF. The fonts are in Font Book, but can't be disabled because they are system fonts. I have turned off "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat's Preferences and they still show up as embedded in the PDF Properties. The weird part is that they show up as Postscript files which aren't even located on the computer at all. It is a new MacBook Pro laptop and I have not installed any fonts on the laptop since we started using it. Is this an Acrobat issue or is FusionPro embedding unused fonts? The fonts it is embedding is Times New Roman and Verdana (in one). The only thing I can find from Adobe is that Acrobat will replace an embedded font with one that is close if it can't it in the PDF. The rest of the fonts that are listed are all in the layout and everything displays properly. I can get rid of them by optimizing the files but I don't really want to do that every time unless I have to.

Everything is in one folder on the server and I have all the permissions to write and place/remove files from that folder. Why would it print fine on another template in the same PDF, using the same exact logo, but not on another template in the same PDF?

In my layout, a graphic frame does not use the image file specified in the data. It used the image file in a different location in the layout just fine. In the .msg file, this error is given: PDF of EPS image \\fusionpro\Graphic_Files\HR001.eps may be cropped to the size of the original EPS image. Support suggested converting the EPS to a PDF or re-sizing the image to the graphic frame. The graphic frame is set up to Best Fit. This is the only logo not showing up in a set of 1500 records. Is there any other options?

Any thoughts? Bug?

I have an image box that creates a black line across the top of an ad on the back cover of a magazine. When the graphic box is placed on the template page, it will not allow me to see anything on the page when Preview is checked. If I remove the graphic box, it works fine. It also causes the Body page it is on to not preview. The only way I can see what the page looks like is to Compose a record. Has anyone else come across this or is this a bug? The image is a tiff. I've tried the line in the box as an EPS and I had the same result. It now seems to be pushing my ads down in the graphic frame below the black line so the bleed now shows.

Update: Saving the tab delimited text file as a UTF-16 text file has fixed my registered trade mark issues. It doesn't solve the quotation issues, but at least I'm moving forward. Somewhat. Is there a reason I would need to save data files this way?

Dan, The files are attached. It is Title1 field. If you compose on the server there will be umlaut looking dots after the word "Realtor" and that's where the ® should be. We are using Producer version 9.0. FusionProTemplates_FINALS_FP.zip

I'd love to know why it doesn't work without this rule. It appears in the preview and composes on the desktop (1 record) and appears correctly. It just doesn't work on the server. I tried this rule in the OnStartRecord rule and it doesn't work. I changed it to UntaggedDataField and that doesn't work either. I'm kind of out of options right now. Quotations also don't work from out tab delimited text file either.

Eric, It is on two different platforms. Desktop is Mac and Server is on PC. I'm looking for global rule that would be in the OnRecordStart callback so it looks for the registered trademark in all 217 data fields. This rule works for just one field, right?

We have fields in our data where people can add registered trademarks to their professional designations and they display correctly in FusionPro preview but show up as " when you compose on the server. I know you can write a rule &reg after a field but the trademark is already in the data, so would I need to strip it from those fields in the data?

I am trying to keep some organization to our files on the FusionPro server because we use almost 10,000 resources every week in our layouts. Every time I place the images or text in folders, the templates can't find the files. The only way it works is to have everything in the directory, not in a folder. I tried adding the folder name at the end of the paths in the rules but that doesn't work either. Am I missing something or is there a better way of doing this?

Alex, I think I figured it out. Let me know if this could be it. I have 3 graphic boxes on a page that I am waiting on images for so they do not have a resource or rule for them yet. I also have QR code graphic boxes on 3 pages that don't have a rule yet, also waiting on the information. This accounts for the 9 instances listed. One other thing I just saw is that whenever I use a XML Graphic Rule, I have to insert a default image. I have tried Empty, Blank, Omit and it always shows up in the log. Is there a better option to use?

I wasn't sure what category this should go in. I keep getting this error in my log after composition and I can't figure out what rule it is trying to find the graphic for: Graphic is not found or is not processed properly: / Check for file existence and that it is of the proper format. I have checked every rule and none of the paths have a forward slash at the end of them. It's not a huge deal because the job is still composing correctly, but I just want to eliminate as many errors in the log as I can. Any help is appreciated. The EPS logos then appear low-res in the layout with preview on if they are converted. This is the error code in Console: 3/8/13 3:05:23 PM [0x0-0x369369].com.pti.fusionpro.server[12235] Converting EPS file /Volumes/Testfiles/OL_SO_RL_1A1066684.eps to PDF format.

I'm not sure what is going on but a few days ago, as I scroll through records in a file with preview on, a 72 dpi file of EPS Logos is being created in the folder with all the images, logos and layout. When I check Console it says the file is being converted from the EPS file in that folder on the server. Any clues what this is about?
