Default FusionPro 8.2 Now Available

PTI has released version 8.2 of the FusionPro VDP Suite. This release includes both Mac and Windows releases of FusionPro VDP Creator as well as the Windows-based FusionPro VDP Producer and FusionPro VDP Producer API.

New Features
The FusionPro 8.2 release includes a balance of new features and bug fixes. The new features are:
  • Mac OS 10.8 Mountain Lion Support
  • Ability to presort data lists with the integration of FusionPro and TecMailing. Also includes subscription purchasing, to buy annual subscriptions to Tec Mailing.
  • Include barcode information on back of imposed sheet.
  • Ability to move slug/job information on imposed sheet to any location.
  • Able to re-calculate rules on a frame-by-frame basis, thereby creating content based on frame position, size, name, or page number.
  • Auto-lead adjustment feature where leading for paragraph can be set to a multiple of the standard lead. This is useful to make custom leading that works in copyfitting.
  • Ability to change the line spacing for a paragraph to a value other than single line spacing.
  • Reformat page number (including changing starting page number)
  • Stacked GS-1 barcode for coupon use
  • Auto-detection and optional font replacement if fonts are missing when opening job for editing
  • Minimum row height for tables, which assists in lining up tables next to each other.

Additional information about the 8.2 release, feature-set, and addressed issues can be found in both the FusionPro 8.2 release notes as well as the FusionPro VDP Software Version History page.

Upgrades and New Licenses
FusionPro customers can download the 8.2 release from the FusionPro VDP Software Download page. FusionPro Creator 8.x customers can use their current serial number to install the new version.

New licenses of FusionPro VDP Creator 8.2 are available for $799 per license. Upgrade and full new versions can be purchased from the FusionPro VDP Store. Please note that pricing and upgrade eligibility may change at any time.

FusionPro Desktop 5.x, 6.x and 7.x customers can upgrade to FusionPro VDP Creator 8.2 at a discounted price of $499.

FusionPro Direct/Server and MarcomCentral customers who are active on their maintenance are entitled to an upgrade of their FusionPro VDP software. FusionPro Direct/Server customers can obtain their upgrades by contacting the FusionPro VDP Support team while MarcomCentral customers can contact their CPM to inquire about the upgrade.

The correct spellings are JavaScript, FusionPro, and MarcomCentral (each with two capital letters and no spaces). Acceptable abbreviations are JS, FP, and MC (or MCC). There is no "S" at the end of "Expression" or "Printable"! The name of the product is FusionPro, not "Fusion". "Java" is not is not the same as JavaScript.

Unhappy Re: FusionPro 8.2 Now Available

Does Version 8.2.7 work with Indesign CS5.5? I just upgraded my Version to 8.2.7 to run on a Windows 7 machine and for some reason the FusionPro plugin is grayed out. What gives?
