Zach Abad
I have a client that used the "Insert Special Character" feature in InDesign to add their apostrophes and quotes. I am only able to use straight quotes in the variable fields once I set up my Fusion Pro Template. Is there a way to enable smart or curly quotes in Fusion Pro? esmith
Although maybe not the best answer, the easiest solution might be to copy and paste them from InDesign/Quark. I tried it on my end and they seem to hold through composition.
Zach Abad
Unfortunately, the apostrophe is part of one of the variable fields. I could copy and paste, but it would get replaced in Fusion Pro anyway. Thanks for the tip though.
esmith
Unfortunately, the apostrophe is part of one of the variable fields. In that case, you can copy and paste your curly quotes into your data file (assuming you can edit your data file on the same platform as your layout file to avoid ASCII character discrepancies). Custom content should hold in composition, but to be on the safe side, you can create a text rule using the NormalizeEntities function as such: return NormalizeEntities(Field("YOUR FIELD"));
