Disabling Fields using Autofills

Is there a way to disable or make a field unusable using a input into a field? I'm trying to get Autofills to prevent users from using certain fields.

Instead of Autofill, what about using Text Profile Attributes? You can assign values to a user based on his/her user ID and then leave the field blank and lock and/or hide it from other users who should not see it.

Thanks for the idea Lisa, never thought about using those! I'm trying to get fields to turn off and on depending on the autofills chosen, not really a certain group of users.

Well you can use conditional visibility from the UI rules tab in template configuration? But this will only work if the all of the auto-filled fields are dropdowns.

this is a very interesting feature, thank you. it could work, I'll play with it. Right now, I just fill a field with <!-- don't use this field with this autofill -->

I figured out that if you bulk upload saved content <--! --> for a rich text field, it will kill that field. So that basically does what I want, disable the field so people can't type in it based on which autofill they choose. Only problem is that I have to change every field to a multiline rich text field.
