strido
I have a field that is going to be using multiple lines, but the client wants to have the text flow up instead of down. Can we do that? If so, how? I didn't see a button anywhere that accommodates that. Would it need to be a rule?
Dan Korn
Do you mean bottom aligned? If so, you can click the "Vertical Align Bottom" button on the bottom right of the Text Frame Properties palette. Or do you mean the text should actually flow in reverse vertical line order, like so? aid of their party. to come to the for all good men Now is the timeThat's trickier, but the easiest way to do it is to connect several text frames together. strido
It would be as in the 2nd example. They have an actual line going from one side of the piece to the other, and want the text to flow from there up. Not all fields would be filled all of the time, either. It's a couple of phone numbers (Main, Fax, Mobile, Blackberry)...

It's a couple of phone numbers (Main, Fax, Mobile, Blackberry)... Oh, okay, then that's pretty simple. I mean, you know the order that the lines should appear in, right? So you can just use the Suppress if Empty (or Suppress if Containing Empty Variables) setting on each paragraph, and output the lines in whatever order you want, and set everything to Bottom Align. You don't need to go "bottom up."
