How to apply variable data

Never used before..Need tutorials

 

Can import background..how do you use your variable data, change color, add strokes to data?

 

I tried saving as a FP expression image, adding a Personalized picture rule in FushionPro and changed the Graphic Frame proerties tuo use the rule.

 

However, the image is not clean at all.
