David Miller
Having trouble getting a single business card order from a template to step and repeat 8-out via the default imposition file. The order is being imposed in the first position only of an 8-out FPI file. (Processed from the Dashboard.) The Default Imposition on the Configuration Tab has been correctly chosen in the Manager Form/Template Setup. The FPI file reads: Version=3 SubstrateWidth=8.5 SubstrateHeight=9.583 Bleed=0.125 TrimBoxWidth=3.5 TrimBoxHeight=2 HorizontalPosition=0 VerticalPosition=0 CenterLayout=True PrimaryRepeatDirection=Hor PrimaryRepeatCount=2 PrimaryRepeatSpacing=0 PrimaryRepeatDuplicate=True PrimaryRepeatInfiniteStack=False SecondaryRepeatDirection=Ver SecondaryRepeatCount=4 SecondaryRepeatSpacing=0 SecondaryRepeatDuplicate=True SecondaryRepeatInfiniteStack=False TertiaryRepeatDirection=None TertiaryRepeatCount=1 TertiaryRepeatSpacing=0.25 TertiaryRepeatDuplicate=False SignatureType=Simplex PagesPerRecord=1 Rotation=0 CropMarks=True CropMarkOffset=0.125 CropMarkLength=0.25 Slug= SignatureRotation_0_0=0 SignatureRotation_0_1=0 SignatureRotation_1_0=0 SignatureRotation_1_1=0 SignatureRotation_2_0=0 SignatureRotation_2_1=0 SignatureRotation_3_0=0 SignatureRotation_3_1=0 DiscardGutterR_0=None DiscardGutterR_1=None DiscardGutterR_2=None DiscardGutterR_3=None DiscardGutterC_0=None DiscardGutterC_1=None HSigOrder=LeftToRight VSigOrder=TopToBottom FaceUpStacking=True FlipOnShortEdge=False Units=Inches Configuration Tab Settings: Info Slug: = No Slug Disable Repeat Record: = No Impose: = Yes (FPI) Background enabled: = No Looked through help resources. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
jstehman
David, It sounds like you need to "Optimize". If you're creating the imposition manually in the Dashboard, on the Impositions page you'll see a dropdown labeled "Optimization" and your options are either Horizontal, Vertical or None. If it's set to None then you'll end up with only one copyhole filled out of the 8. If there's only one version to be imposed Horizontal or Vertical won't make a difference but you want to select one of the two. If there is more than one version then that option will make a difference, it will either set the versions alternating across, or down. It's a little difficult to describe but there is a graphical representation of it shown in the Dashboard. If you have Auto Job Ticket set up for the item that same setting is also available in the MarcomCentral Manager. If the AJT entry is set to Optimization - None change it to either Horizontal or Vertical. Hopefully that helps, but of course if I've completely missed the mark and that has nothing to do with it please let me know. David Miller
Thank you Jeff, When logged into the Dashboard as a Supplier Level User, the Impositions link under Order Manager (url=impositions&UID=328484) redirects me to the Search Page (search&UID=328484). Could it be related to the current store contract and level of service? Also, having problems accessing the Dashboard Help Resources in Safari and Firefox for Mac. Help files in Manager work great. When logged into Dashboard as a Sales Level User, the Imposition link is not available. Suggested using AJT, but it doesn't look like an option right now. The only available Press Ready Files for the Sales Order are 1-Up and Imposed (using Default) Tried several variations of the FPI file in Manager and the Template Configuration looks correct. Store ID: 8238 Template ID: 417 Sales Order: NHC100273 (This is a test order only.) Appreciate your reply. Thank you.
jstehman
David, The Dashboard help, that's pretty out of date honestly. It's on the list of things to do but we're going to overhaul the Dashboard eventually so I wouldn't be surprised if the Help stays the way it is and we redo everything at once. Regarding not seeing the Imposition link when using a Sales login yes, that is the way it works. This is a bit of an over-simplification but for the most part a Sales login only lets you look at the status of an order, to take action on it you have to use a Supplier login. As far as ending up at a search screen when going to Impositions, it wouldn't be any sort of level of service issue, that works the same for everybody. It should be taking you to a dropdown list of your stores and that's what it's doing for me, so you might want to try clearing your browser history and see if that helps any. If you still can't get it to work please email me. You're not getting any results under Auto Job Ticket Setup because nothing has been created yet. If you click on Create you'll get a dropdown list of items, pick from that and you can set it up. You can also create them via Bulk Ops. Lastly, I see that order you referenced was job ticketed again today and you've got an 8up file now. It's possible the Job Ticket link was used the first time as opposed to the Impo Mgr. link? They do work differently, Job Ticket skips over the Imposition step.
