I need to make a rule that calls in variable data but some of the data needs to be underlined. how do I accomplish that?

With the underline tag pair, <u></u>. For instance:

return "This text is not underlined. <u>This text is underlined.</u> And this is not underlined.";

Or are you asking how to write a rule so that only some of the data has the underline tags applied to it? If so, what are the criteria?
