  1. Dan, thank you for the kick in the head. I had a brain fart, and forgot about just right-clicking. But I was still hoping for more. But that is ok. Thanks for the quick response. SRS
  2. I'm looking for all the hidden settings that can be made to the *.fpi file after it is created in FPImposer. I have found a way to get rid of the gutters between certain pages in a layout, but only by editing the *.fpi file in a text editor and adding 'DiscardGutterR_1=Top' or 'Bottom' where needed. Is there any documentation of all the hidden codes that can be used? We have some layouts that need some extra attention that some hidden codes, might/hopefully provide. Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Scott R Simons Prepress Specialist Holland Litho FusionPro 10.0.3 FPImposer 10.0.3
  3. Dan, your simple question solved my issue. I have been using a rule that a previous employee had setup and has been working for all the other motifs we use. But your simple direction, showed me that there was an error in the rule. Thanks.
  4. I have an Expression that uses 3 personalizations, and when I preview it, it looks great. But when I compose it through Fusion Pro, the 2nd and 3rd personalization is using the same data as the 2nd personalization. I cannot figure out the issue. Any pointers of where to diagnose? The composed JPG shows it wrong, and the corresponding XML, shows the issue. Using Expression 3.2 and Fusion
  5. Sorry about that Dan, next time I will include the attachments in the beginning. My end goal is to create some Template XMLs, but wanted to glean information from some of the XMLs from previous jobs. Since I found a bug, is all forgiven? And thank you very much for the work around. That will be very helpful in the future.
  6. The XML shows the same way in TextEdit. Here is a screenshot of what I see in TextEdit. And here is the XML file, I'm trying to open. Scott Mac 10.9.5 BBEdit 10.5.13 TextEdit 1.9 Acrobat 10.1.10 FP 9.3.12 Archive.zip
  7. I do have BBEdit 10, and I can open the files which it sees them as UTF-16, but the text is all in some Asian dialect that I cannot read. I have looked into them before, as a reference, so I did not have to open the PDF. And now, I want to get field names and such, so I can build my own XML templates. But this makes it quite time consuming and painful. Before I could just open the XML in BBEdit and read it. I do not plan on editing the base templates, I just want to create my own.
  8. I used to be able to open the XML files with FP8 in BBEdit on the Mac. But now with FP9, the XML files are 16-bit, and I can not find a way to edit them with BBEdit. I've tried different settings with BBEdit, but still cannot figure it out. Very Frustrating. Anyone know of a workaround, another editor of some sort. Again, I'm on a Mac. 9. First let me say, thanks Dan, the Formatted Text Resource, seems to have worked. And will probably take care of some other issues I have been having with some other items. I did have 'Embed Fonts' box checked. I am not using Fusion Pro Direct, but was collecting the job to a Zip file to use with EFI Digital StoreFront, running Producer. I'm not sure on the version though. Yes, I am including the Assets.dat file. I am only using the font via markup tags, so I it appears that, that was my issue all along. Thanks again Dan. Scott
  10. Thanks Dan for explaining the details on how Fusion handles fonts. This will help in troubleshooting issues in the future. The font 'Previews' fine, and when I 'Compose' the file, the font looks correct. But when I 'Collect for Output' to upload to a server running Fusion Producer, the font does not appear correctly in the update view or when I download a PDF proof. It is acting like the font is not being uploaded. So I checked the .dif file only mentions 'MyriadPro-Regular' in the 'fontdict'. The font 'Myriad Pro Black' is not even included. I would think that it should be referenced here, but I could be wrong. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Scott
  11. I have a job, that is using the font "Myriad Pro Black". I can preview the job just fine, but when I goto compose it, I get a message about the normal style not loaded. I've been having some issues with other fonts that are using Bold, and after researching the problem, I found out that I needed to use HTML coding to get that weight of the font. 12. I had the same issue. With the help of my co-worker we have found it out and got things working again. It appears that I did not have all the forms of Helvetica loaded for Fusion. I must have not had them loaded with Fusion 7.2, but now with 8.2, you need them. So I copied the files over that I needed and it worked. I then changed my default fonts to be Courier. And the problem is truly gone. All of this after uninstalling/re-installing/uninstalling. Also deleting all folders that I could find that related to either 'PTI' or 'Printable'. And manually removing all plug ins from Acrobat, and InDesign that I could find. I knew it had to deal with fonts, but would have never guessed it was my default font that I never changed in Fusion.
