jhunsel Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I realize that plug-ins for Acrobat 9 will not be available until FP 6, but I'm wondering if there is a maximum PDF version # that FP 5 supports. No problems with PDF version 1.7? Does it even matter?
Dan Korn Posted January 19, 2009 Posted January 19, 2009 Both Acrobat 8 and 9 support PDF 1.7, which I believe is the most recent version of the PDF standard. FusionPro's composition engine is based on version 6 of the PDF Library, which corresponds to PDF version 1.5 (and that hasn't changed in FusionPro 6.0). Our testing has not found any issues with using PDF 1.7 resources. That said, some features in PDF resources which are specific to later versions of the PDF standard may not be preserved in the composed output, but generally such features have no relevance to VDP workflows or RIPs (stuff like embedded Photoshop data). So the short answer is No, there's no maximum PDF version that we support.
