Hawk
Is there a maximum number of records allowed in an external data file? I have an external data file with over 200,000 records, and I can't get all of the records to populate. If I pull out samples in a smaller file it works fine. Other wise it is inconsistant. It seams that after it gets to a certian record it fails. There is no error message, it just doesn't work. Thanks, Larry
Dan Korn
I don't know of any specific limit. However, it's impossible to analyze what's going wrong with your job without seeing it. You could send it to Support. I'll also note that the ExternalDataFileEx functionality was not designed to do the same kind of "heavy lifting" in terms of merging large or complex tables of data that a true relational database system can do. It should work, but it's not going to be optimal.
Hawk
I get a error when trying to upload an attachment. Can I email the files to you? Thanks, Larry
Dan Korn
I get a error when trying to upload an attachment. Can I email the files to you? You can send files to FusionProSupport@PTI.com. If they're too large to email, you can ask Support for FTP upload information. I may not be able to look at the files personally.
