Can FusionPro handle Adobe Variable Fonts?

I have a variable job that uses the typeface Winsel Variable Black. I've used fonts with "variable" in the name without a thought, until now. Honestly, I wasn't aware "variable" fonts were completely different than "normal" fonts until needing one in FusionPro. After educating myself a little, I'm pretty sure I know the answer to my question.

Adobe's description of variable fonts –

Variable fonts use one file to store many font styles, as opposed to static fonts which use separate files for every style available. They allow you to specify a value for each design axis of a font, giving you control over the font’s appearance that static fonts are not capable of.

I'm trying to find out if it's possible to extract individual styles from the variable fonts but no luck yet.

Thanks,

Vicki

Vicki, I contacted support on this matter, and here is what they had to say about it.

"FusionPro VDP does not support Variable Fonts at this time.  We do have an active project in development regarding this new feature.
We will notify our customers when a release candidate becomes available."
