  1. So I just tested the theory by NOT using the FP export from InDesign and just publishing to PDF and adding the text and graphic frames in FP. All is well with the VPS output, bleeds are included. There must be something about the FP Export from InDesign that messed with the bleeds, but what puzzles me is they show up fine when I compose in a PDF format. I'm using FP 9.1.0.
  2. Hi Dan - I just may have stumbled across something. I had a file that was exactly the same size and the bleeds always show with VPS. I opened it up and the bleeds show in Acrobat. This file that is giving me a fit does not show the bleed beyond the page boundary, just a blank area with the bleed box. With this file I added variable frames in InDesign and used the export function to get it into Acrobat.
  3. Dan - When the file is ripped (EFI EX1000) and printed the bleeds are no there, just a white gutter and the crops are placed at the trim, with the bleeds stopping at the trim. This is both PPML and Single File VPS. When I generate a PDF/VT the bleeds are included in the output as normal. This is using the same FusionPro Imposer file for imposition on all formats. The problem is PDF/VT rips at about half the speed of PPML or VPS and with over 300,000 records I need all the rip speed I can get!!
  4. For some reason we ahve random PPML bleeds issues. Sometimes the bleeds are all included when we make a PPML and sometimes they are on 2 of the 4 sides. We are using the same FP Imposition template, all supplied PDF's have 1/8" bleeds on all 4 sides. If I compose the output using PDF/VT all the bleeds are included, but the file RIPs slow. What takes 30 seconds in PPML will take 30 minutes with PDF/VT. We have a Xerox EF1000 Fiery with all the bells and whistles.

    Has anyone been successful with PDF/VT?

  5. Hi Dan,

    Thanks for taking the time to get the resolved, I really do appreciate it. Especially since I used FP every day!

    Yes I have restarted several time and I got the same results. I did do one additional step this weekend and that was to clean up all temp files. This did allow the QR codes to start again, with the only issue being a test file I had created with 2 lines of data now crashes every time I try to preview the QR codes. I created a new FP document from InDesign and used the same 2 line data for the test and the results were perfect!

    Maybe you can confirm there was something in the temp files that was not allowing FP to create a graphic QR code?

    Again, Thanks for the help, you are doing a great service to those of us who need it!!

  6. I actually was doing that when it stopped working. I was able to talk the customer into using a Datamatrix barcode just to keep the job moving. I still can't generate a QR code, I have gone as far as uninstalling Fusion Pro and re-installing it. Still it will not generate a graphic QR Code, not even a preview.
  7. This is from the log of a test file I did.

  8. I have been creating QR codes for quite some time on mailers. I have a project that was generating files for 127,000 records and it stopped part of the way through. It generated about 60,000 records then I get an error "Failed to generate graphic". All the data that is mapped to the mailer is there except the QR code.

    Now whenever I use the barcode rule that was working fine before Fusion Pro hangs up, takes forever to preview the data and when it does the QR codes are missing. If I compose the data the QR coeds are missing as well.

    This is the barcode rule

    return MakeQRBarcodeGraphic(Field("first") + "\t" + Field("group1") + "\t" + Field("last") + "\t" + Field("address") + "\t" + Field("city") + "\t" + Field("st") + "\t" + Field("zip"))

    I'm using FusionPro VDP Creator 9.1.0 with Acrobat 11.0.08. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
