  1. Every time I try to preview my variable data I get an error in Acrobat:

The other application is not running. Could not launch the FusionPro program. Reinstalling the software may correct this problem.

I have tried everything. Alex at support thinks it is a permission issue. I reinstalled acrobat and FusionPro. It worked for a few days last week and has resurfaced again. Anyone else having this problem?

  2. I set the Nexpress gloss to overprint and our operator will be trying that tomorrow. Also on this job, a transparent frame is required to ensure that DryInk clear from the spot gloss image does not adhere to the Glossing Belt. I used your turtorial for adding a background to a imposition:

    It worked great.

  3. I have a InDesign file with variable data on a record player. I need to add a spot gloss varnish on the record for our Nexpress. The steps I have taken so far are:

    1. Created the spot varnish over the record in Indesign. Exported that as a pdf and opened in Illustrator. I set the artwork to multiply and saved it. In Fusionpro, I added it as a resource and created the return rule for the resource. I drew and graphic frame and set it to the varnish rule. I would like to export this a VDX for speed purposes, but when it prints on the Nexpress the varnish knocks out the record so it is all white when it prints. If I save it as a PDF or PDF/VT it rips but it is slow. We are really trying to get this to rip fast. I have added a picture of the record. Any ideas?
