  1. I'm looking at the example file for the charts... I can't figure out where the chart scale numbering is coming from or how the chart imagery is being generated.... the scale values are not within the data file, and there doesn't seem to be any image resources in the collected files. How is this being done?
  2. Thanks David. I just got a hold of the support people, and they sent be a patched version 9.3.26 to install which took care of my issues. I can now compose files, collect for output to my Digital Storefront, and the InDesign plugin appear to work correctly now also.
  3. Has anyone had trouble getting FusioPro 9.3.22 to actual compose a completed job to PDF or VDX? Everything else seems to be working for me, but when I go to create an output file, the Composition System window pops up, a .cfg file is created at my chosen output destination, but then it all just stops, and no PDF or VDX file is ever created, and no log file is created either. I've tried it using Acrobat 9 and Acrobat X, with the same results. I've also tried to Collect the files to create a product on our Digital Storefront, and the file collection stalls and crashes FusionPro all together. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Yes, I was able to go through the data source defining process as normal. I ended up reinstalling an older version of FusionPro on a separate computer, then stealing the older version InDesign FP plugins from that installation and replacing them into the plugins folder on my computer, overwriting the FP 9.3 InDesign plugins. Now everything works. I see that as a serious problem that the developers need to address. It could be caused by something I did, but I doubt it.
  5. I just upgraded my FusionPro to version 9.3.22. I used the uninstaller to remove the previous version before installing this upgrade. I have tried to export a couple different PDFs from InDesign CS 6 and InDesign CC 2015 with text frames and graphic frames tagged and exported using the FP InDesign plugin panel. Each time the PDF exports successfully, and opens in Acrobat Pro, but with only the static elements showing in the background, and no variable frames showing up that I can select. However, if I look at the "overview" palette for FusionPro within Acrobat Pro, I do see a listing for my variable frames, and I can select them in that list and then click on the "edit text..." button to access the frame content. However, the frame and its contents do not appear even after turning on the Preview Template. Is there some way to "turn on" the visual dotted line representation of the text frame and show the preview that I'm missing? I've used FP though many different upgrades starting from version 5, but I've never had this issue before. Thanks! Mac OS 10.10.5 - InDesign CS 6 and CC 2015 - Acrobat Pro 10.1.16 _ FP 9.3.22
  6. I have a customer who wants to see about 30 variable proofs of his mailing piece. I receive two list each month. The main mailing list that contains about 5,000 to 10,000 records with all the address information along with a ID number, and a second list of about 30 records that contains only the cooresponding ID number of the proofs he want to see. Normally, I use Excel to compare the two lists, and flag the ID numbers for the proof records in the main list. Then I just delete all the other records that he doesn't want to see proofs for. I was hoping that there would be a way to just compose only the records from the main list, by doing some kind of external reference rule to look at the second smaller list... but I havn't been able to find a method or instructions that work. Any help would be much appreciated... Thanks!
  7. Super! Thanks so much for the explaination.
  8. Dan, Thank you very much. This is going to work just great! Could you explain what/how the (/.*_(.*)\.[^.]+$/, "$1") part is filtering? Sometimes my data file names aren't as clean as the ones I gave in my example (WPC_JUNE_3RD.csv), and I'd like to be able to use this with data file names that are a little more complex, but that I'd just add a "..._1ST" or "..._3RD" at the end of the file name.
  9. Is there any way to set up a graphic switch rule based on the data file name that is being used? For example, if I have two separate mailing lists that need to remain separate... one list has a file name of "WPC_JUNE_1ST.csv" and a second list with a file name of "WPC_JUNE_3RD.csv"... Is there a javascript rule that would look at the actual name of the data that was being linked at the time to the FusionPro document, and pull an appropriate postal indicia graphic resource based on the "1ST" or the "3RD" part of the data file name? I realize, a basic switch rule would work also, if I added a column of data calling out the mail class, into the lists themselves, but I'd rather not do that in this case if I can avoid it. Any help would be most appreciated.
  10. All good suggestions, and most I have tried. If I could run more than one version of FP at a time, I would just keep both version active on my Mac (since I do have two licenses). I have jobs that are not on our Digital Storefront that require the Variable Graphic-style QR codes, and that's where I run into trouble. I have mentioned the issue (and others) to EFI many times... like talking to a brick wall!
  11. Is there anyway to get around this QR code creation problem in FP 8.020 WITHOUT upgrading? I cannot upgrade because my EFI Digital Storefront doesn't support FP above 8.020. (I actually found that out after upgrading to FP 8.2... but then I had to back everything back down to FP 8.020.) Now I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, because I cannot compose variable QR Code jobs on my local machine. Please Help
  12. I'm almost sorry to ask this, as I know the answer will be simple... but I can't seem to remember, or find the exact syntax I need in the maunals or forum responses... I'm looking to return a single PDF page based on a field in my database. The 50-page PDF resource has been added into my FusioPro document resources already. I just need the proper syntax to say something like: If (Field("signtype") == "Sale Pending") return Resource("Sign.pdf") page number 1 If (Field("signtype") == "Sold") return Resource("Sign.pdf") page number 2 If (Field("signtype") == "For Sale") return Resource("Sign.pdf") page number 3 etc...etc...etc... I just can't figure out how to pull certain pages from the one 50-page PDF? It's a Monday for sure!
  13. Yes, you are correct, the web product did compose correctly, so my customer is able to use that, but occasionally I have to compose a larger batch locally, so on that front, I'm stuck. I had tried using the text version of the rule in the past, but I need the scaling functionality of the graphic-based QR code that the test-based just doesn't afford me. Thank you for you input, I really appreciate it. Sometimes it's good to know that I'm on the right track, even if the outcome is not what I hoped for.
  14. Thank you. That's great to know, but unfortunately my Digital Storefront provider doesn't support 8.1 or 8.2 for variable products, so I'm stuck at 8.0.20 until they do. Since I can't have two versions of FP running on my one machine, is there any other solution I might try?
