  2. Hi, I hope I post my question at the right place… A problem seems to happen "randomly". All the orders notifiocations are not recieved by the mail server of the assistant who check them every day. Sometimes, the customer recieves them normaly and sometimes not. The problem occurs since the beginning of october. We do have difficulties to understand why (for a same product, one or two notifications will not be recieved as all the others will…) Are we alone to encounter that kind of problem ? Is there some point (s) to check in our parameters in the manager ? Thank you for your help and forgive my "under the sea" level of english… Best regards, Gerard.
  3. The 3 fields are on the same line, I try to imagine a way, in the case of the first one is left empty, for example, to "fill the gap" by moving the others… More simply (if it's possible…) : If cell A1 is empty, cell B1 replace it, cell C1 replace cell B1.
  4. Hi, I would like to know if, for a variable product, it's possible to create a rule to re-assign the destination of a data in the case of one of te cells of the Excell file is empty. I want to compose a business card. Raw 1 is Tel / Raw 2 is Fax and Raw 3 is e.mail. In the case of, for one of the records, raw 1 is left empty, I would be happy to fill the place with the data of raw 2 and fill the place assignet to raw 2 with data of raw 3… to avoid any hole in the layout. Hoping I exposed my problem a comprehensive way… Thank you for the information & all the best ! Gerard.

  6. I have another (little) question. In my example, one case is if a field remains empty (typed ""). Is there a way to type "if the field is NOT empty ? I'm searching but I feel I'm the only one concerned by a non empty field… Gerard.

Hi, I try to write a rule but nothing seems to work properly… In a 8 pages document, we use 2 choices successively ("in cascade") that validate the creation of a 2 or a 3 pages final downloadable document. first choice : Option 1 eliminate pages 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 (pages 5 / 6 / 7 / 8 are used) Option 2 eliminate pages 5 / 6 (pages 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 7 / 8 are used) Then choice 2 comes to eliminate half of the resulting pages : First case : page 5 / 7 (pages 8 / 6 are used) or 6 / 8 (pages 1 / 3 are used) then we have our 2 pages final document. Second case : 1 / 3 / 7 (pages 2 / 4 / 8 are used) or 2 / 4 / 8 (pages 1 / 3 / 7 are used) then we have our 3 pages final document. Hi, (Ihope I post at the right place…) A customer try to make his order in the online shop but has the message : "Mistake in calculation of taxes: the supplied data are not coherent with the demand(request) of calculation (ID:55)" (at the step "validation of the order). When I do the same order with my login, ther is no problem. If anyone knows what's goin' on (a mistake in user location or "elsewhere" form…), I would be really grateful. Gerard.

  12. Hi, I'm doing the exercices in the "FusionPro VDP Creator Rules Guide" and I have a problem with the "Employee ID badges" page 104. When I try to validate the rule that "call" the images, I get this message on the first line (Pic = CreateResource(Field("Last") + ".jpg", graphic) "ReferenceError: graphic is not defined" I don't understand as I have entered the line exactly as it is in the manual (except that I have .jpg files instead of .tif) As I'm "junior" in JavaScript, can someone tell me why I do have this error ? you can see a screen capture here : problem with the link ! the right is : http://gerardteillot.com/errorpict.jpg Thank you for your help !   13. Hi, I do have some results today ! Add languages in IE, restarted, and now, I can upload the pict and the full window of the "crop" step is displayed on the screen. But the box of the pict remains grey, like if the pict file was missing. If I validate, error number 31023 appears. I will try again later, maybe the browser need some time…

  16. Thank you for your answer FreightTrain, Since yesterday, I try to get more information from the customer (like softwares versions & number of error displayed) but I still wait for her answer. But I tried by myself on one PC and had the same problem. The display of the cropping action freeze. See there on the PC : http://img402.imageshack.us/img402/421/53448122.jpg Windows 7 / Internet explorer 9 and there on my Mac : http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/30/capturedcran20120626143.png (Uncle Kim is OK…) A few months ago, we have had that kind of problem in the Manager (impossible to upload a template). It occurred just after an update of the browser. The solution to the problem was (for Firefox that I use) to set the preferences this way : Contents / Choice of preferred language to display web pages / & set the English/US in first position as shown in the screen capt. of my french version. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1766/capturedcran20120626140.png We think that we & the customer have the same kind of problem But unfortunately, I didn't found how to get the same settings on InternetExplorer on a PC.   17. Hi, A little "hello" from Paris where we do have a little problem (hope I post it at the right place…) A customer cant realize the upload of some ID picts to compose some business cards. (she did similar order 2 months ago & it worked fine…) The problem occurred on the 3 PC's of her office. She send me the picts and I tried from my Mac with her account, everything works fine (files not too heavy & with correct names). As we encountered a problem months ago that was resolved by changing the order in the list of "choice of preferred languages to display the pages" in Firefox preferences, I'd like to know if there is something to check in Internet explorer preferences ( and where in the options because I'm not really a PC user…). Of course She didn't give me the version of Internet Explorer she uses and the error number displayed when the problem occurred… If someone has an idea of what to check or where to search, I would be grateful.   19. Hi ! I would like to format a French phone number (10 digits) this way: 01 52 93 44 05 (by adding a space every 2 digits). As I'm totally new to JavaScript, I usually search informations on the forum to edit or modify existing rules to build mines, a way like another to try to understand the "language" but this time, the operation seems to be too complicated for the beginner I am… I guess I must formulate "for the field "phone", pick the two first digits, then add a space, take the two followers, add another space and so on till digit number 8 Searching in the forum, I tried something like : return FormatNumber("## ## ## ## ##", Field("Tel")); but it didn't work… As I don't want you to do the job instead of me, some informations to help me to find my way would be really appreciated !   21. Hi ! Turning the static backgrounds in "versioned images" was a solution and my document works properly now. But I do have another problem with this document. The goal is to compose business cards using a variable product and uploading an Excell file with the personalisations - The business card can have 2 different logos and also 2 different addresses. - To help the user to win time, I did 2 fields, one can be "1" or "2" depending what logo must be in the card, the other "a" or "b" depending the address needed to figure on the card. I used the UI rules in the "setup template" to set what to do if "1" / "2" & "a" "b" the problem : If testing the product via the "preview" command works exactly like I need, when i upload the excel file in the store, nothing work anymore (like if the UI rules do not "react" to the "a" / "b" & "1" / "2" contained in the Excell file). Every column in the Excell file is properly named and the system recognizes it correctly. I tried XLS / CSV / TXT (unicode) formats but if they are all recognized by the system, the result is always the same. My question : are there some limitations (or incompatibilities) in uploading Excell files containing informations "triggering" an action via UI rules ? I hope my description of the problem will be "easy" to understand… & if someone that has had the same could give me an idea to work on… a "big thank you by advance" ! Gerard.
  22. Thank you havdp for your help. This option was not selected and during the "Composition step" everything was OK. To be sure, I re-did the document from beginning, but with the same result. As it is a simple one, I think I will try to import the static background as variable images to see what happens…

Hi, I am a kind of newbee from France on the forum, I'm not sure to post in the right place and/or if the question have already been treated… I have a little problem to solve. - I did a business card in the versioned type that works fine. - As I realized the same product in variable type, everything works fine too except the static background & every cropping marks that do not appear on the final PDF. - of course, the "preview" and "compose" step were OK… - and in the Manager / setup Template, background is enabled… I first thought of a problem with the indesign file, so I did a new document, but with the same result. I guess I forgot to choose or click an option in the manager, if someone has an idea about where… I would be grateful. Many thanks (hoping you will forgive my "rough technical english"…), Gerard.
