Hi, I wondering if by chance if there are other customers in the area that also use PTI/FusionPro/Variable Data software.

The reason being is, that I have been on the community chat, have paid for the webanar, and my files are not the way they need to be and time is running out.

So, if we are able to contact another shop in the area to help us out.

Yes, we are willing to even pay the company for their employees time in order to get us started.

I added the " to inclose the message, and the rest of the info is the link to my Data Source File. I need to find a company that is in the Culver City or Downtown Los Angeles area that I can go and sit with them and see how it's done, and ask questions as we go along, and bring my own files. This online webnars are nice, but nothing like be able to work on a real file that I have.

Well I followed your instructions and received an error message: "Failed to open file </Volumes/BlueEarthShared?vivian/7079 ESCORT CARD/ESCORT CARD list.txt>.

I continue to have this problem from very simple excel data source, all it has are names, and this is very frustrating.

I have a situation where I am NOT able to import the Data Source File into my pdf. I've tried every extension (.xls, .cvs, .txt, .prn, .dif, yet I only am able to see 2 files, and it gives me an error message.

CLARIFICATION:

1. text from my excel file (.csv or .txt)

2. 101 customer fields/rows of data (names/address/city/state/zip)

3. only 2 customer names imported to my .pdf

Yes I'm a novice, but I also a quick study, so right now all I need to do for my repeat clients is adding the variable data text only. The art is placed in either quarkXpess ore InDesign.

I'm also having issues importing the excel text (not using .xlsx), using the following: .csv, .xls and .txt, and all that imports are two out of 101 (and due to our deadline, I am creating master pages in QuarkXpress/InDesign, and coping and pasting, which is such a waste of time.

 

How can I import the TEXT ONLY in my file?
