Default Can tracking cookies be used in PF Links landing pages? And if so, how?

I've got a new campaign I'm going to start working on this week which will need to be completed pretty quickly, and the client would like to use cookies to collect info on anyone who visits any of the PURLs. Is that doable?
If anyone has any experience with that please let me know. The only thread I could find in these boards with any mention of cookies was the below, which seems to indicate it was possible, but my limited experience with FP Links is that it is very finicky so I'd like a little direction on how to place them so they'll work, if it's even possible.
If it's not possible I'll direct my client to place the cookies on the ordering site that the PURLs will point to.
Thanks in advance for any help anyone might have!
