Mirror variable type

Does anyone know if it's possible to have variable type (basic sequential numbers) mirrored? I'm trying to put sequential numbers on a clear static cling that will be viewed through the material, so it needs to print "wrong-reading."

I suppose you could create an OnRecordStart rule that reads the numbers of the field into an array and then returns them in reverse order...

Unfortunately, that won't work. Not only do they have to be in reverse order, but each number has to be mirrored, so that it would appear right reading if you viewed it in a mirror.

Duh. I should have thought about that first!

 

I just checked with my co-worker running the Indigo 5000 in our shop (since we also have done static clings in the past) and he confirmed that he can set the press to print a mirror image of the file. Do you have that capability in your shop?

Yes, our press can do that as well. That's the path that I'm working on now, but I'm not sure if that is going to work out because of the orientation of clings on the frame and the need for them to be in sequential order on a finished roll. Fun stuff - half a day just trying to get a sequential number on a cling!

I tried it and it worked on the Trial version. For $30.00 it might be worth it!
