Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to announce that the FusionPro VDP suite version 6.0, including new versions of FusionPro Desktop, Direct, and Server, is now available for both Mac and Windows!

New Features

The FusionPro VDP 6.0 release includes 5 new features:

  • Acrobat 9 support - Mac and Windows

  • InDesign CS4 support - Mac and Windows

  • Repeat Record - Simple and effective rule-based method to repeat records. Just 1 line of JavaScript required!

  • JavaScript Frame Controls - Access and modify over 50 variable text and graphic frame properties in JavaScript including background color, content, and frame visibility

  • Repeatable Components - Now available for flat-data input, repeatable components allow for the re-use of small sub-sections of a design multiple times within a template. Or, swap out entire sub-sections of a template with different sub-sections (on a record by record basis) for an extremely dynamic template workflow.

Additional information about the 6.0 release, feature-set, and addressed issues can be found in both the FusionPro 6.0 release notes as well as the FusionPro VDP Software Version History page.

Upgrades and New Licenses

FusionPro Desktop 6.0 upgrades are available for all FusionPro Desktop 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x customers at a discounted upgrade price of $299 per license. New licenses of FusionPro Desktop 6.0 are available for $599 per license. Upgrade and full new versions can be purchased from the FusionPro Desktop Store.

FusionPro Server and Web customers who are active on their maintenance are entitled to an upgrade of their FusionPro VDP software. FusionPro Server customers can obtain their upgrades by contacting the FusionPro VDP Support team while FusionPro Web customers can contact their CPM to inquire about the upgrade.

FusionPro Web Support of FusionPro Desktop 6.0 Templates

At this time, Printable is testing FusionPro Desktop 6.0 templates within FusionPro Web. They therefore not officially supported in the FusionPro Web product and will not be accepted by the FusionPro Web Manager on upload. We expect to announce support for FusionPro Desktop 6.0 and 5.8P2c templates within FusionPro Web next week so please look for additional information on this soon.

As always, thank you for your continued support!
