jdames Posted March 28, 2011 Share Posted March 28, 2011 I am composing a 7500 record expression job with one of the provided templates (the golf one) and it is only running about 1 record every 10 seconds. I am also imposing the job 4-up on a sheet at the same time. At this rate it is going to take 21 hours to process this job. Why is it taking so long? Is there anything I can do to speed this up? Jobs with Personalized Images tend to take longer; however, FusionPro caches the generated images, so the second time you run a job with similar data it should be a lot faster. Also, you may see better results with FusionPro Server or Direct. If you contact Sales or Support, they can work with you on ways to optimize performance. Of course, the main advantage of composing to a VDP-optimized output format like PPML instead of PDF isn't so much faster composition speed, but faster RIP speed, depending on the device. jstehman Posted March 30, 2011 Share Posted March 30, 2011 jdames, as we discussed via email please let me know if re-saving background and mask layers as jpgs instead of tifs doesn't help. Doing that reduced the size of the Expression template from 80 MB down to 8 MB so that should result in a much improved composition time.
