  1. Hi Dan, Thank you for the reply. Will an M1 native version of FusionPro release this year? Thank you, hp
  2. Hi all, Suppose I am printing a coupon containing a variable coupon code. The static background is 3-up centered within an 8.5 x 11 sheet but the supplied data source has all the coupon codes in a single (spreadsheet) column. Normally, I just separate the codes into 3 columns and insert the variable fields accordingly. I was wondering if there is a way to setup this type of job without having to separate the data source into 3 columns? I know I can achieve this by using a FusionPro Imposer file but the artwork comes to me pre-imposed 3-up. Thanks, hp
  3. Method 1 worked like a charm! Thank you so much! Best regards, hp
  4. Hi Dan, Is 13.1 now M1 native or does it still require Rosetta to run? Thanks, hp
  5. Hi Dan, Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately, when I posted my question last night, I did not have all the information so I apologize for that. Here's what I am being told now: The total number of possible pages for a single record is 8 (they are being called "header pages"). The data source contains 8 columns (one column for each header page). Each header page will contain 1 text frame (and within it, the corresponding field from the data source). So, in the previous example, if all 8 columns within the data source are populated for record 1, then all 8 header pages will get composed however, on record 2, only columns A and B are populated, so the composed document will only contain pages 1 and 2 for record 2, and etc. So, if the variable on a header page is empty, that page is suppressed from the composed document. Can this be done? I hope this makes sense. Thank you, hp
  6. Hello Hive Mind, I have another challenge. Suppose I have a job that is 8 pages. Across said 8 pages, variable text will appear however, not every record will need all 8 pages. For example: Record 1 - might need all 8 pages to display all necessary text. Record 2 - might need only need pages 1 and 2 to display all necessary text. Record 3 - might need pages 1-4 to display all necessary text. ETC. Since the shell file is 8 pages, the question is: is there a way that when composing the job that (in the above example of record 2), pages 3-8 are omitted from the composed document? The idea is that for each record, there are no "empty" pages in the final composed file. TIA, hp
  7. Hi Thomas and Dan, Your suggestion worked like a charm! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! Best regards, jm
  8. Hi everyone, I have a letter that is 4 versions. The base art is the same across all 4 versions, it's just the letter that is variable (and each letter has variables within the paragraphs of text). Normally, I would just process this as 4 versions but because this will mail, the associated mailing lists have been combined into one list. In looking at the documentation for FP, it looks like maybe objects can be hidden/shown with a JavaScript rule but I am not able to make sense of it. As I have no experience with JavaScript, could someone please provide the code to achieve this? Thank you so much, jm
  9. Hi everyone, I am looking for a FusionPro Expression freelancer who can help with a variable image project. Please message me privately for details. Thank you, hp
  10. I have a variable project that is rather advanced and may require Java scripting. Here are a few details: 1. The project is for a 4-day show with lots of attendees (10's of thousands). Each attendee will get an 11x8.5 sheet containing their name badge, a list of the sessions they are to attend over the 4 days, and some coupons/marketing. 2. The number of sessions for each attendee will vary and each days sessions are separated by a graphic header. The header will need to move up or down to accommodate the varying number of sessions for each day. 3. The total session count should support it all fitting on a single sheet. 4. If an attendee has no sessions for a particular day, the graphic header for said day is not displayed. 5. There are 3 versions: consultant, guest, and an onsite blank. 6. Several if-then-else statements. 7. Some barcodes. I can supply the artwork (Indesign/Fonts/Graphics), a sample data file, and a mockup with field mapping and if-then-else statement instructions. If anyone can tackle this, please send me a private message so we can discuss all the particulars. Thanks hp
  11. It seems our Fiery rip doesn't like PPML for some reason. VPS was suggested as an alternative format. Is there a viewer app somewhere that can open a VPS file? It'd be nice to see the composed file before sending it to the pressroom to confirm it is correct. TIA, hp
  12. We were using its "Cut & Stack" feature and apparently, that doesn't play with two-sided work.
  13. We tried it but the job wasn't backing up correctly. We are still doing some tests. Thanks, Jon :-)
  14. Before discovering FPImposer, we used to impose our jobs manually. Now with FPImposer, imposition is a breeze however but now I am getting complaints that jobs are taking longer to rip on our NexPress than before. We use (and have always used) VDX as our output format. While I am not saying that using FPImposer for imposition versus manual imposition is the culprit, it's the only procedural thing we've changed. Thoughts anyone? Thanks, Jon
