  1. Tried that just now, and that does fix the issue, although the text truncated msg did appear, even though no text was visibly truncated. Also found that by setting the leading to "absolute" 8pt the excess space on top is gone. Thanks for your help!
  2. Thank you for the replies and suggestions. I tried various combinations yesterday; had not previously used the copyfit function, it will work to provide some "compression" to more address than space available. Yet no matter what I tried could not get the excess space above the IMB to diminish, whether in a separate text frame or combined with the address block. I'm thinking that space may be some protect function of the font? Does anyone else observe the same situation of excess space - an additional blank line really - above the IMB? And, I put the IMB as last line since it cannot move out of the window area, no matter how it is tapped; have found that with it on the top line variations in folding & inserting can result in it being out of position. The copyfit function should work when there are variable lines of address to deal with. Thank you!
  3. Hello - In creating a address block to fit a window envelope, I've run into an issue with too much space above the IM barcode, which is the last line. I'm using the IMB standard in 16pt; with 4 address lines the window fit is tight - 5 is too much. Is there a way to move the barcode up, leaving as the last line in address and accommodate 4-5 variable address lines? Thanks! Elixir WinXP, Acrobat 9, FusionPro VDP Creator 8.0.20
  4. Noticed that the ratio of intended to actual size closely approximates that of legal to letter size paper. Solution - choose the correct paper size on output device! Doh!
  5. Hello - I have a card 2"H x 3.25" w to print 14 on an 8.5x14 sheet, 2 across x 7 down. Imposer gathered the card size from the FusionPro file, and it displays as correct in the sizing call out. Once imposed however the on screen & print out both result in a card size of 1.5" x 2.5". I'm mystified at the reduced size, can anyone point out where this may have gone wrong? Thanks!
  6. Thanks, Dan. You explained that so well that even I understood it! Now I just need to add "output preview" of PDF to my workflow prior to any FusionPro processing. Thanks again!
  7. It turns out that reviewing the PDF under Advanced-Output Preview the previously screen viewable text disappears. Something to do with "white object is not set to knockout" whatever that means. Thanks!
  8. Ah, so you're not familiar with Click 'n Clack, the tappet brothers? One suggested approach was to save the PDF as a postscript file, then open with Distiller and create a new (flattened) PDF - unfortunately that created a PDF without the missing text. Thanks!
  9. Hope this is the correct forum for this question - This issue was discovered when a FusionPro job was printed by an outside source, however stepping back to the original PDF without merge the condition can be duplicated, so the below refers to the original: We have a customer supplied PDF that when printed may or may not print all static text, seemingly dependent on which machine it is printed from. There is no variable text. The PDF was created in InDesign. According to File/Properties/Fonts all fonts are embedded, yet the PDF screen display is not necessarily WYSIWYG when printed. To make this more interesting, printing from PC "A" to printer "A" - text is missing. Printing from PC "B" to same printer "A" - text is printed. Any ideas on why the static text is not printed consistently? Thanks!
  10. Hello - Trying to fit an extra card on a 12x18 sheet size. The cards are 4.5x6.5 (including bleeds), 4 on a sheet, leaving much unused sheet space. is there a way to add one additional card per sheet, rotated 90 degrees relative to the other cards, in a stack output? Thanks! Elixir
  11. Ah, that answers my original question then, and indicates why the IDAutomation font doesn't work with alpha characters. I did search the forums initially for this info, but silly me I searched for the acronym "IMB" which returned: "Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms." Thanks for your help - most appreciated!
  12. Still can't get the IDAutomation4State font to work. However was able to install the USPS Std & Compact IMB's on this machine, and after loading through FusionPro 4X those eventually worked. Could not locate a "font.err" file, nor did I find any mention (recognizable to me) of things gone awry in the log file, when trying the IDAutomation font again. However - the USPS fonts DO work! Why the IDAutomation one does not - I dunno. Thanks to all for your suggestions and assistance.
  13. Hmm, well I'm still missing something. Here is the issue - in the "preview record selector" I can see the barcode string "TTFAD...." however nothing appears on the barcode line in the PDF, although the rest of the record lines do appear.. I've selected the IDAutomation 4 state font for that line. I did try changing the font to Arial, and the characters "TTFAD..." did appear in the PDF when previewed. What am I missing here? Thanks!
  14. Thanks - which font name & size to use for alpha string? Thank you!
