Skip record if overflow page is used

I'm wondering if it is possible in FusionPro to check if an overflow page was used and if so, compose or don't compose the record. If I can't do it that way, is it possible to check if overflow was used on a text frame?

Then I was thinking a could say if $pagecount is > 1 then skip or don't skip the record, but the javascript editor doesn't recognize the the $pagecount variable. What's the best way to go about this?

As of FusionPro 5.x, there was no way to interact with the $pagecount variable, or detect a property to indicate an overflow page.

 

What you could do is use the TextMeasure function, and determine the size of the text based on each record, compared to the size of your frame, which would tell you if it will require the overflow page.

 

I don't have access to the sample code where I did something like this, in order to calculate page numbers for a saddlestitch book using overflow pages, but search for any of Dan's posts regarding Copyfitting, which should get you started.
