Can't I just load a few fonts instead of all the fonts on my system?

Is there any way I can get Fusion Pro to load fonts aside from loading all the fonts I have active on my system at the time? Every time I try to load fonts, Fusion Pro Crashes. I assume this means I probably have a corrupted or duplicate font, but going through all of my fonts to find which is causing the problem would be rather onerous. I really only need to use roughly 5 or 6 fonts for my variable data work, as it's generally addressing or barcoding. Can't I just make a folder with just these fonts and load them or what? Is there a workaround for this sort of thing? Any help offered is appreciated greatly!

Here is the crash report I get when attempting to load fonts:

How many fonts do you have loaded? We typically only have the 50ish fonts required by the system, the fonts installed by FP, and the specific fonts required by the current job loaded at any given time. If you search this forum for "fonts" you'll find a wide range of problems and solutions. Odds are that one of them will address the specific issue you are having. I know this post regarding font cache cleanup has helped me on a number of occasions.

There is an option in the newer versions of FusionPro, version 5 or later to "Load New". Also, you can use the following information to help clearing your system font cache in the Mac OS X environment.

Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)

Close all applications, including Suitcase Fusion

Go to /Library/Caches/ and drag the "com.apple.ATS" folder to the Trash. You may need to enter an administrator password.

Restart the computer. You will not be able to empty the Trash until you restart.

Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

Close all applications, including Suitcase Fusion

Launch Terminal

Enter the following command at the prompt and press Return: atsutil databases -removeUser

Quit Terminal

Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard

Close all applications.

Go to Applications:Utilities, open up Terminal program.

From Terminal window, run the command in the following sequence:

atsutil databases -removeUser

or if you have the permission to run sudo command, try:

sudo atsutil databases -remove

Then run the following two commands:

atsutil server -shutdown

atsutil server -ping

Reload fonts from FusionPro again.

Alex, I am running FP Desktop 7.0 on a Mac and I do not have the Load New option under Load Fonts. I used to have that option I think in 6.0 but since installing 7.0 my only option is to Load All. Is this a bug on the Mac side only?
